That's because the F450 pickup uses a diesel only, and under 14K GVW. The real F450's (F450/F550 cab/chassis) gets reduced actual power, but only with the diesel. The F450/F550 V10 gas still have the full power and ratings. The F250/350 6.2 gas engines over 10K GVW have full power, but are rated (government mandated) at a lower 4179 RPM, to make them appear less powerful. The 6.2's in the under 10 K GVW are the same as the lower rated 6.2 engines installed in the over 10K GVW trucks. Why the government feels the need to play with the power and ratings in different trucks is beyond me. The diesel class 4-5 (true class 4-5) trucks can only have 300HP, & 660TQ now. You will now see those ratings on FL, KW, IH, all the major brands!
