Wheels?

i recently put my factory steel wheels back on my truck

it has a few places from rocks that have chips in the paint and rust

i really dont want to take my tires off to have them sand blasted

so my questions are

1) how should i strip the paint (what should i use)

2) what paint and primer

3) what paint would work best for re-pin striping the beauty rings

that is not my wheel but its what mine look like

When I painted rims at my neighbors shop with the tires on here is what I did. 1st mark location of wheel weights on tires. Remove the weights. I used a small handheld sand blasting rig (kinda looked like a garden sprayer) and blasted rust spots. Feather sanded the rest of the rim. I used a piece of sheet metal about 3" wide to form a loop around the rim ontop of the tire. This masked off the tire real easy. Clean rim with a wax/grease remover (Like PPG 320) The used good acrylic primer. Then we just spray bombed them. Reinstall weights after paint dries. As for the trim ring, I just used some straight enamel (or lightly thinned it) and used an artist brush to apply the paint.

Sandblast, prime, paint color of choice and just have somebody spin the wheel and a steady hand to stripe.
Sounds easy enough doesn't it.
