It can easily consume 1+ quart of oil in 4k miles without any noticeable effects or indications of burning the oil.

 

I always use Castrol GTX oil and purolater filters. I usually stock up on them at advance auto when they have a sale (filter and 5 quarts for 17.99) I just buy a couple of filters and a case of oil all at the same time. My wifes sport trac with 6 cyl uses the same filter our big V10's use.

 

I just changed the oil in my 99 f-53 motor home and it was 7qts dont know if the motor homes have a biger pan. MC filter and MC 5-20
