ok I have 2005 Ford F150 with the 5.4 the other day i went to pass a truck and floored it and it fell on its face cut out real bad like an injector or a fuel pump but then when its cold outside a fail safe mode message appears and the truck dies ill start it back up and theres no engine light on.. it didnt store a code the dealership said nothing is wrong but everytime u accerlate fast it cuts out and thats not normal fuel filter is replaced every 4thousand miles did pressure test on pump its fine theres 84,000 miles on the truck any suggestions? besides injectors

 

Sounds like a sticking throttle body assembly. PCM should hold a soft code for three drive cycles after the CEL goes out. Get your codes read and let us know what you get. It is probably a P2106.
