DDM 55w 8000k HID Lows
DDM 55w 8000k HID Fogs

I am looking to do HID soon, it's too cold outside right now though. And the Excursion is too big to get in my garages or my mother's heated garages. After dark, and facing the Excursion, do the fog lights and headlights appear to be the same brightness?

For the most part they do. I've been trying to angle my headlights but i find that the adjustment on the top of the light moves the housing left and right. When i get that sorted ill let you know how it looks.

I like the blacked out rims. Any suggestions/recommendations to getting it done well to avoid chipping? Powder coated or sprayed?

Thanks! Use a good primer and lots of clear coat lol. Whenever i paint on chrome like surfaces i use a (self etching primer that can be picked up at kragen) and for paint a use dupli color gloss black which IMO is a very durable high quality paint which can also be picked up at Kragen. I also use a dupli color automotive clear coat as well.

It's in Nevada by Virginia city, called the "American flats". Used to be some old toxin plant of some sort.

Very nice X, love the black rims also. Are those the stocks you painted or the weld rims?

I've had the 8000K HID's and for me there were a little to blue. Also the shop I got them at put in mechanical ones (bulb housing has a mechanism that moves the bulb up or down for low/hi) and those tend to break easily, also I had two different times that I needed the shop to replace the ballast cuz it went out . I talked to JohnnyAirtime on here and he hooked me up with some 4300K HID Hi/Low (Dual Filament very nice) and 4300K fogs, everything is top of the line and they give a nice bright white light.

I can't see in the pics if you are using center caps with your black rims or if you painted the hub housings. If you are using caps, which ones?
