99 f250 diesel
Hey Guys Im looking at a 1999 f250 7.3 turbo diesel ,it has 189.000 miles on it, the asking price is $5500.00 body is in good condition, my question is, how many miles should I expect to get out of this motor if it was taken care of, what should I expect of mpg and what should I do to improve the mpg, also is this truck worth the money

Here what I use... Diablo Sport Predator Programmer U7170
The stock power is not much fun to drive.. you just plug it in under the dash at the computer connection, do a a little finger pushing, pick a program, exit, pull the plug and start her up... Also has a nice scanner to give you your fault codes, if any.. But, you should add gauges to monitor the exhaust and boost if you add chips or programmers..

I bought a e99 f250 XLT SC/SB 4x4 a few months ago with 196k on it, have not had any real problems other than regular maintenance. I paid $9500 and I think it I got a deal. Your looking at an XL so not as many options, but still a nice truck and much cheaper than I paid. I run a Bully-Dog 5 position programmer and like it, especially the high idle setting. I'm averaging around 15-16mpg when I keep my foot out of it.

Theres a link here somewhere on what to look at before you buy. One thing comes to mind by checking the intake tube and turbo wheel for dusting, dirty air and debris getting past the filter, wears a motor out bad. Somebody will be by with a link if I can't find it. Seem's like a good price to me. Like said earlier, not a whole lot of options with a XL but function is all that matters if thats what you want.
