I was wondering what people are getting for gas miliage on their 5.8L engine with an automatic transmisson. I have 93' Ford E150 conversion van that gets about 12 mpg highway. Just wondering what everyone esle is getting. Thanks.
Just replaced my '89 3 speed auto E-150.What a great van, what a great engine. But MPG was not its strong suit. I got approx. 11.5 to 12.5 MPG city and approx. 12.8 to 13.5 highway around Long Island NY. I did get above 14 MPG pure highway many times on trips from NY to Florida.
I have a 94 Bronco(5.8) that gets 12 to 13MPG with 32" tires. I had a 93 E-150(Empty cargo van) with a 5.0/AOD and the best I ever got with that was 15. I talked to a guy that had a 4.9 six and he got the same milage as my 5.0. Sounds like your in the ball park.

My 93 f150 auto. 4x4 w/5.8 and 307 gears gets 10mpg in town with a light foot. It gets 10 with a heavy foot. 10 on the highway in 3rd or overdrive. I haven't checked, but I think it would only get 10 going off a cliff. It's tuned up, has 120,000 on it and runs great so I'll live with it.
I have a '90 F150 with a 5.8 and I get about 8-10 in the city, 10=-12 on highway. This is with 33" Trail Kings, Flowmasters catback system, Diablo superchip, dual K@N cone filters with customized ram air system.
I have a 1993 F150, 351, 4x4, 120,00 miles, with 3.55 gears. I get around 10 mpg in town and 12 to 14 mpg highway, I guess it depends on which way the wind is blowing. All numbers are driving easy!!
I have a 1986 F-150, 351 HO, holley 4 barrel, C6 trans.(no OD), 2.xx rear(highway), stock ign., stock exhaust, 150,000 mi. and get 10.4 MPG. Loaded or empty.But I still love this truck!
