Good to hear its running! Now its time to find and fix that leak before another ECU gets wet. I currently have my B2 down with another bad A4LD tranny and decided to go after the leaks it has. I took out the dash and the firewall is not a pretty sight. There is a rust hole right on top of the ECU location in the cowl area seam! Also the rain gutters will leak down the "A" piller and right on top of the ECU too.

Hopefully tax return will have enough $$$ to get that thing running!

Well,, your right on that. it seems there was a big wad of leaves, straw and lint in the air return duct under there(for re-circulating air when the a/c is on. I had to cut the plastic grill out to clean it out. evidently water was laying in there and migrated down into the ecu wiring. Ill be sure to check the gutter area too,, thanks for the tip. my 5-spd, diffs. and trans case dont have any leaks but I'm going to drain em anyway and put in mercon like someone else said here. my 89 ranger stk used mercon too,, seems awful thin but,,ole Henry F. knows whats best,,haha.
