Three cheers for Jody! or change your HPOP lines

Some of you may remember last Sept as I was roaring across Nevada I blew a HPOP line. Tow bill, 383 mile trip to get parts and a long night to get it fixed and rolling again.
Well----- Thursday I'm heading east out of Tucson and what happens but I blow the OTHER line. I kept planning on replacing it just because, but haven't been in one spot long enough to do it, not available, yada, yada, yada.
I called Jody (Jrammell) to those of us here at FTE. Luckily he wasn't working and was willing to go to the local dealership and pick on up and drive 60 miles to where I was on the side of I 10. When Jody gets to me, we jump under the hood to pop the new one on and its 1" too short! Parts man gave us the wrong one!! so Jody and my wife Cheryl,(she's helping Jody babysit his 7 month old daughter) head BACK to Tucson to the right one. Parts man says "Oh sorry Dude, I guess I grabbed the wrong one" Jody and CHeryl return back to me, we install the CORRECT line and ZOOM we're off again.
the whole point of this long story is: REPLACE your 10 yr old HPOP lines BEFORE you spend 5 1/2 hrs on the side of the road. twice.
AND PLEASE Rep Jody for me. he ended up driving almost 250 miles just to help me out. We all NEED friends like him.

Sorry to hear that Barney, but glad to see that the brotherhood was there as always. Reps to Jody for sure.

I just replaced mine as well, didn't want to get stuck. Very good reminder for all of us. We actually stock them now in larger quantities just because so many people are needing to update. Another plus is the new ones dont have the stainless braid that tears up your arms when working in the valley.

Barney it was a pleasure to help you out. It may have been long day for me but it sure would have been a longer day for you had I not been able to help you out. Plus all I was going to be doing for the day anyways is head to the lake to go fishing and do a little Quail hunting. No worries though, still got to the lake and was able to take my girls with me. I am just glad that I could help a brother out and get you going onto your next stop. Say thanks to Cheryl for helping out with the little one. Travel safely and make sure to call the next time you come through Tucson. You can give me a shout anytime. Keep the greasy side down and the shiny side up Barney.
I guess I should be replacing my lines also since I am at 11 years. Unless I want to call someone to come help me out to. lol

That's funny you should post that. I just happened to find them myself. Will be buying them post haste. I will take you up on dinner when you come back through.

P.S. you sure make your way around prisons.

Yeah, glad its on my terms and not long term. hopefully I'm done walking around in side prisons for awhile.

Side note: please guys put some serious thought into ordering some new HPOP lines. the new ones have been updated and are alot stronger. it really sucks sitting on the side of the road hoping that the Ford dealer has what you need. Get some new ones from Ed and put them in ON YOUR TIME schedule. not on the side of the road with a HUGE oil spill under you truck

Probably some good advice Barney. Where is Ed? Having a part number would be nice. I can't ever find anything on his site it seems.

Good to know Barney. Ed sells those but Clay says he does too, can't go wrong with both those guys. Glad your back and running and reps to Jody when I can, just tried, for the save, it was a big one. Cheers..

Clay' I didn't know you had these. I would have ordered it back in Nov when I bought the other stuff.

Part # F81Z-9J323-E Pass Side # YC3Z-9J323-E Drivers side
Confirm this with Ed or Clay. straight fitting on one end, 90 on the other
