To answer your question...No it doesn't matter which way its turned. Make sure you get the big wires to the big posts and little wires to the little posts. Doesn't matter which one goes to which. Mine is turned towards the fuel bowl.

And mine is turned away from the fuel bowl. trucks starts everytime even down to under 0* without being plugged in
