how do i know if i need to replace the catalytic converter in my ford bronco 1994

hot weather, dry grasses and catalytics - not a good mix
Running back country, with a catalytic converter, dry grass, high grass, high temperatures ... you ARE a potential source for fires! Catalytic converters generate a lot of heat so when the conditions are just wrong enough to be tinder dry... it don't take much to set it off. Not saying you should run open exhausts either, but its not worth saying the cats are 100% safe off-road.

Wow I thought this post was long gone and dead. My old half ton is now a mud bogger and now I own a straight pipe diesel.
I wonder if that bronco ever got fixed or ended up getting scrapped/sold.
My main issue is red dye diesel. Not because the lack of road tax but that fact that diesels running on red dye are proven to run more efficient and that leads to more mpgs...
I'm considering building a heated fuel tank for veggie oil and waist oil. My idi will burn anything under the sun except gas
