2011 F350 Owner's Guide "Perimeter Anti-Theft System". What?
Reading through the Owner's Guide for my new 2011 Job 2 F350, I came across the section titled "Perimeter Alarm System (If Equipped)". "The perimeter anti-theft system will warn you in the event of an unauthorized entry to your vehicle."
Anyone have any information on this unit? Features and functions? Sensors? Or have one installed in their Super Duty? Is it a do-it-yourself install? The User's Guide has no useful information. Getting a good alarm system is real high on my priority list and this one looks appealing as statements elsewhere in the guide indicates it integrates with truck's on-board systems, such as the message center.
I did an Internet search and found references to a Ford part number 7L3Z-19A361-AA, but again no technical insight.

I have the factory perimeter alarm, arm/disarm buttons are integrated into the key. It monitors the doors and hood. The starter disable is the key with the chip in it, there with the alarm or not.
I had an aftermarket Viper installed in addition to the Ford alarm, I wanted the 2way remote that notifies via the key fob of entry. I carry a truck camper and wire the camper. Niether system has the meercury motion switch, which is nice to have. But my setup has 2 seperate starter kills, alarms etc, lots of annoying noise to hopefully scare off the amatuers. The pro's will have the truck no matter what......which is where the LoJac might help .
