= Got My 1997 - 7.3 F250 SB Crew - Auto, Finally! =

Well I joined the PSD club, Hope I made the right choice. 182,000 Miles on it.
Looks like a D60 Front & a Sterling Rear?

Can you guys decode it for me. VIN: 1FTHW26F9VEA47319

Found a nice 97 Crewcab Short-Bed F250 needs a clip. It is Loaded & Black.

I just got the mint un-plugged clip. Looks like the rad is ok, it was in a 20MPH crash Broadside into a Caddy. Looks like it pushed the plow mounts over 4" & grill & support 3" back looks like an easy fix.

Well the main reason I am here is I never had a 7.3 let alone a 97 F250.
Are they the best year for the 7.3? I heard they have all the best stuff on them.

I will have to get some pic'ts of her & post up & make a build thread.

What are the Good the Bad & the Ugly you PSD guru's can tell me about her.

Welcome to the Psd forum! Truck looks ok. Is it more or does it look like the frame rail is bent?

Front frame rail is bent At the joint straight behind that, Bent the plow mount over.

Going to hook it up on the frame machine to straighten it out, then weld on some plate to reinforce it.

That motor is DIRTY. And the GPR doesn't look like a 97 GPR, I've only ever seen the GPR like that on the very early PSD's. All the extra wires must be for the plow controls and lights?
I'd start by getting the motor as clean as possible so you can trace down all the fuel and oil leaks.

All plow wires still there. Not for long.

Pulling it in the shop to remove the clip, and fix frame rail. It will be spotless, new gaskets & Paint. What it looks like a ??? what does a 97 look like? Now I am worried....

Yours is the slightly different version of the same relay I've only ever seen on a 94.5 PSD before. I can't recall exactly but I know the wiring going to it is slightly different, so someone may have modified the wiring harness to accept that GPR in the past.

From what I ca see it looks like a Western Plow relay, Anything else stand out that looks out of place . Is it a 97? He was the Orig owner, did all the 97 F250's have a Solid front Dana 60? Or was that the HD Plow rig option.

Congrats!
I would get a belt on it and crank it op and see how it runs and if it blows any smoke (some smoke at start up is normal this time of the year.

Yes it does resemble a plow control relay. The straight axle was never a factory option on the F250, someone added that prior to you buying it (probably because the TTB couldn't take the weight of the plow very well).
Take a look at this post then check the fuel bowl on your truck to see which one it has.

This site has a VIN decoder that you can use if you need your VIN decoded for you. Not a whole lot of useful info in there, but if you want to try it you can. Go to the homepage and under the header Articles/Specs there is a link to the VIN decoder. Just paste your VIN in there and let 'er rip.
