Job 3 Super Duty to Reclaim Best in Class Towing Ratings

Read this and thought this might be of interest around here. Looks like ford is going to push the towing ratings even higher. With I could afford one of these awesome trucks!

Really?

Ford’s revised 2.5-inch Class 5 hitches will still come with removable 2-inch reducer sleeves.

I was wondering the same based on dates. Seems job 3 (if they are going to call it that) is still a MY 11 build. I presume it's safe to say that there are other changes/updates/fixes that would be associated with a job 3 build (not just towing capability). If this is the case, it would be great to see a list similar to what was provided for the job 2 changes.

I must admit, when I first saw this, it peaked my interest because I thought we could catch a glimpse into MY12 changes....still patiently waiting.

The article refers to a single rear frame cross member as being the reason for upping the towing capacity. Wouldn't Ford have had to make changes to the rear springs and axle as well? I'd love to be able to just change out that cross member and up my towing capacity.

That's funny, when I ordered my truck on Monday I asked if there was going to be a job 3 build. Here's my answer, thanks for the post.

Maybe I missed it but I thought the steel change was for the cross member only. I did not think the entire dually frame was changed.

The way I read the article was that only the dually's are getting the upgraded towing capacity and the SRW models will not change, so there is nothing we can do to upgrade our trucks (SRW owners).
