Front valance panel and snow
#16
mine has been pushed nearly off to, if you look closely at my truck you will see some gap at the very top where the mounting has been stressed. if one drives these trucks off road it is surely going to get torn off at some point.
one thing I do find puzzling is that the front bumper has such a LARGE opening behind the license plate and between the tow hooks. I would think blocking off this area would have the same effect as the air dam.

I suffered a valance malfunction recently as well, but not sure when. I suspect it's from the snowbank in front of my parking spot at work, where I pull ahead then back in to my spot. I certainly didn't smack it, maybe kissed it at best and certainly nothing at all that has damaged any other vehicle I've owned. But on the F-350 the valance not only tore out of the right-side mount and popped out of the next pin, the valance cracked, quite possibly because of the cold.
Thanks to the sage advice of porthole, I was able to repair it today and the crack isn't very noticeable.
My wife said, hey what's going on? It's not only a truck, it's supposed to be Ford tough! Having been under there and examined how the valance is built (too low, too thin) and mounted (easy to break or tear out of the mounts), I have to say I'm disappointed in how this particular aspect of the truck is executed.
And now I get to spend $130 for a replacement, come summer. Sigh.

I ripped mine plum off when I hit a decent ditch/rut when the truck bottomed out pretty good in a sloppy field, noticed it on the way out laying on the other side of the ditch. Threw it in the back of the truck and just got around to bolting it back up on the truck not long ago.
I didnt notice any differance in mpg's either.
