any one ever put frame and drive train of a 350 powerstroke in a 73-79 pickup? im going to mate the two, i will use the firewall and front cab mounts and some of the floor. just seeing if anyone else has done this and can share some insite. thanks
I like your thinking, don't get me wrong I love my truck. (1997 F250 crew short powerstroke) But the thought often crosses my mind, if it were to end up being wrecked. I would buy it back from the insurance company and make a trip down south to find a 73-79 crew cab.
I was thinking about doing that but if you have a '78 one ton then don't you have the Dana 60, everyone wants? Why not just transplant the power strokes guts into your '78?
Friend of mine put a '99 powerstroke in a '79, custom motor mounts and a little modification to the firewall and everything bolts in. truck looks and works awesome.
