Rear shock mounts

Rear shock mounts
I ended up with a pre 1961 9 inch under my unibody, and was hoping to find a set of rear shock mounts. or at least a picture of one so that I could try and fab something up.
I do not really want to weld on to the 3 inch tubes at this point
Anyone have a set laying around?
THanks

Why not weld on the 9"? That's what I did with the axle swap into the 48 F1. Cut the brackets off with an angle grinder, set them in the right place and angle with just a little careful fitting and welded them back on. Just be careful not to get the axle too hot and keep a dry fire extinguisher handy. Drained the fluid first to be on the safe side.
10 years later it's still working.

mtflat,
That would require three things I do not have
1) the brackets to a more modern rear
2)the welding expertise to make it both safe and visually appealing
3) the time or disposition to spend on a truck that will be for sale soon, as apposed to the ones I plan on keeping.
All that being said I may be forced to goober something up if I can not find what I am looking for
Pictures of what they are supposed to look like would go a long way to helping me decide what to do
Thanks for the input

Hi John, this is what I did for shock mounts. Welding to the axle tube is'nt too much of a problem. I looked around in the aftermarket catalogs at mounts and decided they can be fabbed quite easily. I made up a pattern in Autocad, printed it full size and then traced it onto eighth in. plate. ( oem is the same). I cut them out with a cutting blade on the angle grinder, smoothed them on the bench grinder and voila. I welded them on the tube at the same plane as original but moved over to a new position. I used an old shock mounted at the top to locate the new position. Here's a couple pics. It is quite easy to do.

If you can find the lower spring perch/shock mounts from a truck with a full floating axle (the F2 or F3's) it should fit the axle tube of the 9" diff (3" OD)
I've also see where people have taken an angle grinder to the F1 mounts and "massage" them out from the 2 1/2" up to the 3"
Good luck
