just getting home from work. My problem on my F-250 diesel is that when I turn on my lights the radio and clock go off. I sense a problem. In an earlier reply to stumppuller, it is mentioned that the cause could be a bad ground. what i'm asking is what ground wire should I be looking for? theres a lot of wires behind that kick panel. does anybody have specifics or should I look for a wiring diagram of my truck? Is this something that the stealers should look at? would like to fix it myself and save the trouble of taking it to them[the dealer].any help will be great.

The radio, clock and anything else needs a good ground path back to the battery. Of course this starts at the device itself, the radio ground wire or the clock ground wire. They usually run a short distance and bolt the wire to something metal under the dash somewhere. But it doesn't end there.
The cab is mounted in rubber body mounts. So they use small ground straps to go from the cab metal to the frame or the engine block. Usually there is a ground strap from the firewall to a bellhousing bolt on the engine/tranny parting line.
Usually the easiest way to troubleshoot/fix grounding problems is just to add grounds, either termporary to see if they fix the problem, or leave them on permanent.
