Lost a good man
My father in law passed yesterday at the age of 91. I've been married to his daughter for 34 years so he's been my Dad for 34 years as well, I lost my own Dad at the age of 15 so its been great having him to look up, help and be helped. We've had good times and bad over these years and enjoyed many a cold one also. He was a WWII Navy vet who served on the USS Samuel Miles. During his time in the pacific they were attacked by the Japanese air force and hit by a kamakaze. He had plenty of story's and life lessons to offer. He's gone now and I will miss my Dad. its not easy to lose two in one life time. I'm a better man for having him in my life but will sure miss him.

Condolences to you and family. I know it is tough, I lost both my parents within 8 months of each other back in '98. One of my best friends is barely hanging on with cancer and complications from chemo. Life can be really tough and be gone in an instant. I choose to remember and keep on living and loving every day that I and my remaining family are here.

Sorry for your loss..my dad was 93 when he passed and a WW ll US Army vet who fought the Japanese at Okinowa in the South Pacific..he commanded one of those troop ship to shore ducks. One day I found him starring at the beginning of the movie "Saving Private Ryan". I asked, was it like that Dad? He looked at me and said.."it was worse".
No surprise our dads and these men are remembered as the "Greatest Generation"..
Many young people today haven't a clue
