rebuilding my 5.4 for performance

Okay here is the scoop. I am new to this forum but I was told this was one if not the beat for information. I am rebuilding my 5.4 for performance so I am needing some help. I am not rich in information on the modular engines. I am looking for a good parts list that will give me torque and horse power, but I also want a pretty choppy cam also. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Or maybe just a website or a good catalog that has 5.4 modular motor parts... Maybe 1 out of the 67 people that have looked at this can tell me that.

It's a out of a 1997 expedition, it's 2 valve and I'd like to make around 450-500. I don't want to spend like Patriot cost amounts of money. But other then that money is not an issue.

So its an NPI 5.4, (ford improved the design of their heads starting 1999 and they called them Power improved heads or PI heads).
You will need to go supercharged to achieve those numbers and b street able.
You will need a forged rotating assembly such as 5.4 2V/3V/4V RACING Rotating Assembly
Get some PI heads and cams: This guy knows his stuff: Modularheadshop - MHS and a good supercharger.
You could go hunting for used eaton lightning supercharger or even an entire lightning engine or look for a good used procharger.

You should research what you want, theres thousands of ways you could go with your engine. Try and search for threads on builds and results so you can get a idea of what to expect and familiarize more with modular before beginning anything. These engines are really expensive and hard to work on.

Another question, sorry I am asking all much but I am not up to date on modular engines. Are 99 model parts interchangeable with my 1997 motor?

Are you building a race truck? Towing monster?

Just wondering, cause what you intend to do with it makes a huge difference.

It's going to be a "only get it out once a week/month" type. I do want a good amount of power accompanied by the torque to match. I am also wondering if the 99 PI heads will fit on my engine.

yes they will, but if you use your stock pistons compression will be around 10.5:1 which will be too much for boost, and a supercharger seams the way you wanna go
