Smile Merry Christmas!!

Hey everyone.

Merry Christmas. To keep this thread relevant... are you driving your Ford truck today? Any big plans.

Quiet day for me. Dinner with my father-in-law. I hope to take my truck out this evening to see the some Christmas lights. The sounds of the duel exhaust make a perfect carol.

Merry Christmas.

I will be. I have a 24ft. travel trailer in the driveway that spent the last month in the parking lot of the Cow Palace for the Dickens Fair, and will be taking it up to my Sister's house this afternoon to drop it back off and then have Christmas dinner.

Just a side note. When I was in SF last weekend for the final weekend of the Fair, I discovered that my water pump on the truck was going. (Or more accurately, had already gone!) I sopped for gas just down the street from the Cow Palace and smelled antifreeze. When I got to were we had the trailer parked and was unloading the truck, I smelled it again and shone a light under the truck: green fluid streaming down. I popped the hood and check around, could see it was coming from the front of the engine. Grabbed th fan and found it wobbles all over the place.

I bought a rebuilt el cheapo water pump from Kragen (or O'Reilly's or whatever they call themselves this week) along with a bottle of Bars Leaks. Dumped the Bars Leaks in the radiator, ran it for a bit, hooked up the trailer late Sunday and headed for home with the new WP in the back. Of course, since I had the replacement WP on board I frightened it into submission and it didn't leak a drop or let out the slightest complaint all the way home, though the WP is noticeably more wobbly now.

Gotta love these old trucks...if it's at all in their power not to let you down, they'll hold on till the bitter end...!

Merry Christmas!

For my Christmas present to myself, I bought a short throw 1/4" ratchet(lotsa clicks per turn). Then, I paid a deposit on an engine for my 67. It's $500, but kinda hard to throw that kind of money down with 4 kids....at Christmas time.

I bought new rims and tires for my rig... It was a tough year for me, I had a little mishap with an oilchange at pepboys earlier this year that ended up costing me a vacuum pump, and a water pump within about 2 months of each other. Did a solid axle swap back in november to a Dana 60 that I rebuilt hub to hub, and replaced all my suspension with 1ton gear. woohoo!!! I bet I put 3k into my truck this year just having fun... oh well, it's only money right?

Next project for the new year is lighting... Family bought me the clear lens running lights with amber led's for christmas, so i have to paint the bases and smoke the lenses on them and install them next. Then I'm going to be replacing my turn signals, corner markers, and taillights with LED's. Then installing my V-5 deep V bumper from the roll along package... I got one off the same guy i bought my axle off of, striped the chrome and rust off of it, painted it black, undercoated the inside, and am finishing all the prep work with mounting Hella brand backup flood lights and i'll be wiring them up too. Looks to be another great year as a powerstroke owner, and a loving and loyal FTE member. Thanks to all of you guys for making my year go by that much quicker and easier with all the mods i've been doing. Hope yall had a merry christmas and I wish you all a happy new year!!!

oh and PS JOE!!! we still aint hooked up for a wrench day!! you, me, and james need to get together one day and get some **** done! hah, let's do it!!!!
