Honeywell Timer

Happy Holidays Scott (and everyone else),

I just bought one of these: Aube by Honeywell TI062/U Plug-in Timer - eBay (item 280607338417 end time Jan-21-11 11:47:48 PST)
...and it works awesome! I set it to come on at 3:00AM and shut off at 6:30AM but only if it's below 21 degrees F. You can set one of three temperature thresholds, +10F, +21F and +37F, and any time that you'd like. It will also work by "Daylight/Darkness" instead of temperature if you want to use it for something else. It's good for 15A or a 1HP motor and retails around $35.00.

would do no good except to raise your electric bill needlessly. Best to use a timer and set it 3 hours before departure.

Won't hurt a thing except for possibly your wallet. If you did that every day you would burn $30 each month in electricity. Won't hurt the truck though.

If you look just inside the lip of the passenger side of the front bumper and dont see a cord there then you don't have the cord. Block heater (element) is in the block you just need the cord.

I do not see a cord (never have), and I am not sure where i am looking for the block heater. I just crawled under there and saw the starter, but do not see a place for a cord....
