miss at idle or going down the road?
best bet is to have a scanner that can watch balance to catch the concern

Miss at idle and on the road. It's barely noticeable at idle but really bad when I get on it. I just got a code for cyl 4, P0272. Got the same code right after all injectors changed about 300 miles ago. Back then, I pulled the FICM and found a bent pin. Straightened it and she's been smooth every since. This morning (in stock) I felt the miss but no codes and it smoothed out after about 15 miles. This time the code showed up. All temps look good. Forgot to mention that also did a new oil cooler with the EGR delete.

I'm thinking CPS or FICM going bad but Im guessing.

Thanks

Also had a VSS error. I think the code was p0500. But the speedometer is working fine.

ficm is easy enugh to test.
we dont see cmp or ckp sensors issue often. in fact Ive done more harness then sensors.
I would really suspect an injector. if they came from ford there is a 12/12 warranty on them

I'll check the FICM tomorrow a.m. I was hoping the CPS may have been bad (reading another thread somewhere on here). Do injectors go bad that quickly? What would cause it only 300 miles since the change? Thanks

Cheezit,

Took it to dealer this morning for testing. You were spot on about the fuel pressure. 50 at idle, 38 max under boost. Dealer installing new pump and regulator now. Thanks.

Correction: Bought new pump and regulator...I'll be installing them this afternoon. They wanted $400 to install them. OUCH!

Thanks Cheez...pump and regulator for sure. Now it's screaming again. Is there an aftermarket fuel pressure gauge I can add to monitor? My Edge wont do it.

lots of gauges available. glowshift, motorcraft, auto meter, etc all make them. it will require a little bit of work and a fitting or 2 to make it happen.
