Magic Air heater resto progress w/pics

Have made some progress on many heaters and related parts for restoration . Should be able to get some in paint this weekend as a yearly treat to self on b-day 12-24 & Christmas is to work on personal projects . Heaters before media blast , bare metal and primed , defrost y-ducts before 1 hr. in the rock shaker

I think it is great that someone is inspired enough to go through all the work to do what you are doing.See a need, fill it.I wish I had more space, because I would like to be able to do something similar to benefit my "Brethren",57-60 Fridge owners. We really are the odd-men out on this forum. Some day,I hope to have one of those "old" trucks.

Really nice work.

It's ironic that here in the SW where nothing rusts much, these are unheard of, because... it isn't that cold, and everywhere they were needed they spread salt like it was fertilizer. Those look great, I think you should keep one for making repro's off.

I tried to save one from a 52 - Found out what I thought was the heater were just lines in the rust pile.

Nice work by the way.

Hylkman56 , the heaters get painted a custom matched color . The ex neighbor works at an auto paint store and is very good at matching paint The color is a hammertone silver/ gray hue . All parts are painted inside and out . The felt doors were removed and carefully media blasted . The y-ducts are cast aluminum . Thinking of leaving them bare aluminum or paint them the case color .Anyones thoughts on polishing them ? Do you think that would border over restore ? Maybe not for a custom rodded truck . Let me know , thanks Denny
