I searched but did not have any luck, so here goes...
My 300 cranks fine and will rev up but it dies if I give it a little throttle. I can push past and it will rev up but it always wants to die as soon as I open the throttle.
I cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor but had questions about the accelerator pump, it does not seem to squirt immediately like it should. Is this the problem and how do I fix it?
This sure sounds like the accelerator pump. It should pump near instantly. These carbs have a very tiny hose on the pump that can get kinked, also the diaphragm must be seated correctly for it to work right.
The metering rod must be at least one turn off its seat (That's clockwise open one turn, weird like left hand threads)
