NOPE! A Restistol 20x silverbelly.

It's the moonroof. I sit differently without a hat on. Thank goodness for memory seats. 1 is for no hat...2 is for hat.

Without the hat my head is less than 1" from the top in a normal seating position, because of the moonroof and airbags and cooled seats.

has anyone took the plastic covers of the seat frame to see how hard it would be to just cut a inch or so out of it if it has 2 inch to spare like yall say?

I looked and the front-to-back sliding rails sit on four separate feet that are each shaped like a Z with a bolt hole at each end of the Z. One bolt hole goes with the rail and one with the floor of the cab. I wonder if the feet from older trucks or different trim level seats are shorter and may work in place of these? Otherwise, it's cut and weld.

Thats what I had mentioned in an earlier post is to have someone (not me) revamp the seat legs. Someone will eventually come out with it and we will have to buy it when Ford should be stepping up to the plate and fixing the problem that just about any normal height person is complaining about.

Gents, I am 6'5" and I can occassionally feel my hair brush the headliner and moonroof so I feel your pain. I pulled my seats to install a center console and it's really not that big of deal. Someone that knows a good machine shop could take the base off or wrap the existing seat to prevent damage and have the legs cut and rewelded. There is literally almost 2" of extra room and I have the A/C seats and all.

I do plan on doing this as soon as the weather changes as I suspect I can do it myself.

Worst case, cut the legs and have someone weld four base corners if they can't reuse what they cut off. You shape and drill as your leisure.

Keep us posted on this! I eventually want to deal with this. My head is within an inch of the roof and for the first time over the weekend I hit my head after hitting a bump. I have some neck issues and it is a safety concern for me.

Hopefully someone make a set of leg brrackets for lowering the seat 1 to 2 inches and markets them. I am sure it would sell good.

if someone wants donate their truck, i would take a look at it.

you will have to sign a release waver though releasing your truck to ''Shadetree Customs''.

are they similar to brackets on older trucks. ??

Someone will eventually market something for this as the seat height is a joke. Anytime you are in a big truck like these Fords, Chevs, Dodges and your head / hat rubs on the roof is terrible. I am only 6 feet tall. I would hate to think if I was to do any amount of offroading with this truck. Funny how all these high priced engineers building these trucks could let such a blunder like that no be fixed or addressed. First new Ford I have ever bought and not happy over this at all. If I cant find a cure I will end up dumping it the first opportunity I get. Everything else so far with the truck is great but head rubbing is a huge issue.

I agree with the other King Ranch owner. I am a big ole boy too. I am 6'5" and weigh 295 and have a moon roof and the cooled/heated seats. I fit better than I did in my old 2500 silverado that had a moon roof as well. I dont have room to wear my cowboy hat, but lets be real who the hell wears a cowboy hat while driving normally anyways. Maybe try changing the tilt of the seat? I dont know I mean I'm not saying I have a ton of head room but I fit well and am always comfortable.
