59 F100 drag link install orientation

Comparing the stock drag link with a new Moog unit from LMC (p/n 45-2411) shows some fairly dramatic differences. My shop manual for a 1960 doesn't offer much help in the verbiage and the pictures show a straight link. LMC's site shows some curvature to the drag link.

Any pointers? Or is the stock one just that buggered up? The tie rod had a huge bow in it, so I guess it's possible they both got hosed.





Swapping ends helps some...

Jared,I would never trust LMC.Since much of the aftermarket stuff is coming in from China,I prefer Genuine Ford,when available.That is a Moog part,and you'd like to think they're still USA-made,but never can tell .They could have given you one for 4-wheel drive, or for a power steering truck - who knows?If you can,try to get a refund,and get the real McCoy.

Mine, new in 2005 from DC if I remember correctly. Looks more like the original one.
