32 valve 5.4 transplant?

Has anyone successfully transplanted a 32 valve 5.4 from a gator into an expy? What years did the gators have the 32valve engines. What all will this entail as far as motor mounts, wiring harnesses, etc. My 5.4 runs fine but you can never have too much power!

I think that a better bang for your buck would be a supercharger from the Lightening pick-up. The 32V is a nice engine but only about 40 hp up on a standard 5.4 and I don't think the torque comes up at all. The SC gives you the torque you need to really move a heavy truck.

They are probably equal amounts of hassle to install. In both cases I think you need the engine computer but I bet the 32V bolts in otherwise.

I'm about half way with the install of a '98 MarkVIII 4.6 DOHC install into my '98 Expedition and now I have a spare 5.4 DOHC engine and am thinking of starting over and using the 5.4.
What I've found so far is that the ECM is required and for what you want, the easiest way would be to use the Y pipe from the donor and the ECM as well as the engine wire harness. I would suggest that you use the donor's air box and tubes also. I don't see it as too much of a job if you do it that way. You will be very satisfied with the power difference and economy. There is also the benefit of no random spark plug expulsions, which I have not heard of with the DOHC engines.
If that's not enough you can alway add a blower or turbo or spray it.
