Sweet! I have been looking for a gas tank with the side exit. I have seen a couple put a standard gas door on the side. But a trick one makes it come out on the inside of the rear post on the truck bed. I just dont want a fuel door in my bed.

Nice project. Mine has been a lot longer and started as a 2WD F250 in 2004. I drive it more than i work on it. Mostly because it is my truck for anything I need a truck for. I have left my truck pretty much stock and just improving it mechanically. The only thing I have left is the bed restoration. Most of my major projects like cab have been done by retoring a donor part and then swapping it onto the chassis. Don't feel bad about the two year project time, that is still pretty good.

Hey tp just wandering did u use a paint gun on the bottom of the cab and firewall. Just curious how that worked out if u never took the cab off. And if you could explain the steps you took in a basic way, paint wise please that'd be great. I've talked to you before about the c6 in a highboy and I'm just assuring that if I buy a c6 out of a 1976 f250 4x4 it will work just the crossmembers and tail shaft. Thanks a lot

The complete bottom side of the truck was primed them painted with Rapture-Liner, back bumper to front bumper including the wheel wheels. I posted for a year or more when I was doing the truck so some things I said early on were either redone or changed by the time it was completed. I did remove the cab to paint the engine side and the bottom of the cab. The Rapture-Liner come in a kit and can be tinted any color you want. One kit is about enough to do inside the bed of a short bed truck. I originally bought two kits tinted Wimbledon White to match the truck for inside my bed and I liked it so good that I decided to do the bottom of the bed in black, things got out of hand and I did everything underneath. I ended up buying five kits to do inside the bed and underneath, it takes a special gun to spray it on and it only cost about $20 dollars, it can be used over many times. I used the extra white I had and sprayed the complete floor inside the cab so it would have a tough finish under the floor covering. I think I spent about $500 for all the material's and spray gun and looking back I would not change anything about the way I did it.
The short answer is we sandblasted, cleaned, primed, sprayed Rapture-Liner.

Here is a link to what I used on Amazon

Great job! I love the colors you went with, and the bucket seats look right in there.

I don't have any pictures that show it good, but I will try to make some in the next few days and post them for you to see.

beautiful color combo! The pale blue and white looks great on this era truck, and those bucket seats make it stand out! I cant remember the last time i saw a highboy with those tiny side mirrors, but i prefer the mirrors you replaced them with. All in all, one of the best looking Highboys ive seen in a long time!

Beautiful truck. Love the steering wheel.

By the way, could you post a photo of where you drilled the frame for the filler tube. I can't figure out where you put it. I have a 71 F250 4x4 and it looks to me like the tube would go right where the overload spring bracket is on the side of the frame.

Please help, thanks!
