I am currently looking at getting a 2010-1011 Ford Expedition. Its between the Expedition, Armada and the Sequioa. The problem is, i don't know much about this truck. I have been a Ford and Lexus owner since forever. Currently have a F150 that would be traded in. Just don't know much about the Expy

I am looking for real world opinions on the Expedition. Ie. how it is in winter weather, real world gas mileage.. and most of all reliablity!!!

My usual habit is to keep a car about 5 years and just want something that will last and not nickle and dime me to death. Something reliable with good resale vaule. My f150 hasn't been all that stellar in reliability, but my other fords have been.

Please comment if you can, help me understand outside of the sales guy sales pitch.

Just traded my 07 Eddie Bauer EL Expy for an 11 limited EL. MPG around town was 14-15 mpg. 20-22 MPG on solid hwy. Only had two issue with our 07. Transmission shifting. Fixed with a program update. Then we had an issue with the AC blower. Only maint I had to do was tires all the way around, rear brake pads, and a new battery a few months ago. I just updrage to an 11 because of 0% for 60 months. I am in a lot newer with a few more wistles and bells for less money a month.

Ford maintenance schedule (only) has be at 75,000 miles.

But I avoid gizmo models. Mine is an XLT with just the options I wanted like HD Tow and without things like air suspension, digital HVAC, etc.

A glance at the 2011 models, though, shows they're all gizmo'ed up for the soccer mom, country club set.

I'd say reliability wise, it's better than a 2008 Mazda I had. The expy has tons of squeaks and rattles though; they develop over time.

I had one squeak with the radio trim and a rattle with the passenger wiper blade on my 07. Wiper blade was only at higher speed.
