been looking for a c6 for my 66 with the 352fe. found a tranny but need to know if it will work before I go get it. tag info is:
3Y81s432
S93 ( on the bell housing )
D3AP - 7006BA
FE Bells are round, look like the bottom of a wash tub. Depending on your age wether you know about washtubs. Anyway, they are just big and round. Hope this helps!

Thats a 73 & newer. Do you have a pic of it or any more info what its supposed to be from? Originally there would have been a tag on the Servo cover. IS it still there?
I can post a pic of what it "SHOULD" look like, need to head out the storage shed...
It would look something like this one. This tag/trans happens to be for a 428cj but that trans should have one in same area bolted to one of the servo cover bolts. Also note how the trans bell is rounded as others have said

It looks like a partial VIN 3Y81S432. is it on top of trans near tailshaft housing?
The 1st digit is the year. The 2nd digit is the assembly plant code. The 3rd and 4th digits is the series code, which denotes the particular model and body style.
The 5th digit is the engine code, the last 6 digits is the numerical sequence of assembly.
This 3Y81S432 is a partial VIN, but...the series code of 81 does not apply here. It could be 31, but it cannot be 81.
There is no series code of 81 until 1975, and then it pertains to 1975/77 Granada 4 door sedans.
The only series code in 1973 (1973/79) that ends with a 1 that applies is 31.
3 = 1973 / Y = Wixom MI Assembly Plant / 31 = Gran Torino 4 door pillared sedan / S = 400 2V / 432 = partial numerical assembly.
This 400 engined car would have come with a C6.
btw: The D3AP-7006-BA is the transmission CASE ID number, it has nothing to do with the actual ID of the trans.
