Feels like a new truck!
Hey everyone. For a while now, I've been in the process of doing rust repair and body work on the '94. Some of you guys on here have been following my process over in the "what have you done" thread. So, here goes...
Started with this:
Still looked pretty good, but showing its age. 15 years of PA winters were not kind to the metal either. So I stripped the donor, painted up the frame and did some other small things. A brake line, shocks, emergeny brake cables, leaf springs and hangers, and radius arm bushings.
Then I had this:
Solid again, but the rare quad-tone paint wasn't getting it. I drove it most of the summer like this.
Then I stripped it down and sent it off to paint. I picked it up Saturday, and here she is:
I'm really pleased with the outcome. My painter changed up the stripes just enough that I know they're custom, but unless you study them closely, the average passerby will never know the difference. It needs a bath now because there's compound in a lot of the nooks and crannies, and a little overspray in places. All I have left to do is install my new fender emblems and bodyside molding. Then in the spring I'm getting some custom 4x4 decals made, but that you'll have to wait and see. I've got something that I think is pretty trick up my sleeve.

Looks good. I'm considering going to a "Two-Tone" scheme on my red 97 HD, thinking about adding a white center. The only draw back is going to be the super high prices on the lower body moulding to hide the edge between the red / white.
Really like the green's on yours, might be an option for my green Dump.

Yeah, I know. You don't really see it in person, but the camera picks it up well. He said if there's anything I want taken care of, no problems, just have to make an appointment. I havent decided if that spot is worth it, but there are a few other areas that need looked at. Nothing major, just me being nit-picky I guess.
I'm gonna put new front coils under it by spring hopefully. Money's tight right now with the holidays comming up. I doesn't help that I just bought a paintjob either lol.

It's tough, but I like it a lot. The Penn State program has its advantages and disadvantages though. (Sorry, don't mean to hijack this thread)
