I am going to replace my stock bench seat from a nicer bench seat from a 1989 F150. I just got it reupholstered, and I plan to install it in my truck in the summer when I get my entire truck re-painted. Right now the seat stored in my garage with a sheet covering it up. Is there anything else I should do to protect it until then from rodents?
Remind her of the money spent to redo the seat and how fast a mouse can ruin it. If that doesn't work put some mouse traps around your seat and check them from time to time. Or if you have room, hang it from the ceiling. I do that in my shed to keep them out of my hunting clothes.
...or just get some moth *****. seriously, this is what we use to store vehicles in barns out here. no, it doesn't smell good, but it is worth not having your stuff turn into mouse nest fodder.

Not to knock you but i have seen moth ***** piled into a mouse nest like they were acorns for the winter
As one of the articles state moth ***** lose their potency as they age, which is why you've seen them used in mouse nests. Also saw you can use cotton ***** soaked in peppermint oil, which might be another option for the o.p.

Reason: happy holidays
I was gonna say that just because its up in the ceiling of a barn doesn't mean that you wont get mice. Personnally I would do a combination of all the above. Mothballs, mouse traps and hanging it from the ceiling shrink wrapped especially if I had just got it reupholstered like I wanted.
