i used to subscribe to petersens and they were the only one i liked because they had actual vehicles in them that people build and use, not $50k grocery getters. they were my hold out. i sensed the tide was changing at least a solid 4-5 years back and pretty much quit buying them and all 4x4 rags for that matter. i bet i haven't bought more than 10 issues if that out of all of them combined in the last 4 years. sad.

i still have a huge collection including some 80's and early 90's issues which were like twice as thick with a brazillion times more tech and useful info.

sad to say, but i bet a huge part of them going to **** is the fact that you can find damn near anything online in a few clicks. who's gonna wait till the end of the month to get tech when they can have it now???? i love the internet, but i do miss life before it became an everyday everyone kind of thing.

bums sold out to pay the rent i guess.

The TTB got a bad rap. I don't think a lot of people know how to set it up and so it's deemed crap.

I miss fat mags stuffed full of info and vendors ads. I miss spending hours flipping through a mag instead of flipping through the mag in a few minutes hoping there's something I want to read. The last mag series I looked forward to reading was Four Wheelers Boarder to Boarder. The internet sucks. It's nice to have info at your fingertips, but agree with you on missing life before EVERYTHING was on here.

As long as you don't mind wheeling with nutty hillbillies, I'm down.

i have all my mags from when i was little, the first one i have is a 1995 issue, its about 3/4 inch thick but its only black and white pictures but it has nothing but pics and articles on lifted trucks, building a nasty 600hp 460 big block for a old ford, a custom solid axle leaf sprung toyota suv i think. That mag made me fall in love with big trucks, getting my hands dirty and wanting to work on my own truck when i was old enough to get one). When i got my first truck in 2003 F-250 Heavy Duty 4x4 reg cab with 5.8 and e4od i had all them old mags that had tons or articles in them to help me. now i pick one up skim through it to find something other than some junk ifs suv that cost as much as a house and then throw it in the garbage can and come on this site and read about problems and your guys responses on how to fix them right!

Since it was sold, all of peterson publications have gone that way....just abunch of repackaged paid ads re-constructed to appear to be a "tech article".
