another FWD problem... but please look anyways :)
I have a 1997 f150 lariat 5.4 FWD esof. Nothing at all happens with I move my fwd selector switch... no dash lights, clunks, clicks or grinding. I have looked at lots of posts and decided to start at the beginning. First I checked the fuses. Next I pulled the selector switch and its harness. The harness had a 12volt 5volt 0volt and a ground with engine running. The switch itself tests ok for continuity and a change in resistance at the 3 different positions.
I pulled the GEM and it looked ok... no signs of water... really not even dusty. No corrosion on any of the connectors. The GEM is what turns on the FWD indicator lights on the dash, which don't light up for me ( they do on startup though).
Does the GEM turn on the indicators light when it get a signal from the selector switch or does it turn them on when it get a different signal?
Thanks for any help guys.
