Overhead gauge pod, did you move your mirror mount?

I got an overhead gauge pod today, but there's not enough room for it to slide in, it needs at least an inch more of room. Guys with overhead gauge pods, did you have to move your mirror mount to accommodate the pod?

Windshield is the original one. Even if I remove the mirror the pod still hits the mount

It seems to be hit and miss, At RRW I was messing with Ed's a bit , he had the same clearance issue as me.

I had to take mine off and re-mount it lower to get the gauge pod above it.

Walt mine fit okay with out clearance issues. If you have had your windshield replaced sometimes they don't get the mirror mount in exactly the same spot. Don't know if there is that much variance from the factory.

Guys, do any of you have pictures of install. Would really like to see them. I'd like two new guages at least and that seems to be a good place. And what about night, are the lights to bright? Chet

Yes, I had to move mine.....I did it VERY CAREFULLY too! Applied heat from a heat gun from the INSIDE while applying slight pressure with a scraper.....it popped off. I also found a window installer who applied his professional window glue to the mount for $5.00 dollars (much better than those cheap kits found in auto parts stores). I put it back on AFTER I had the gauge pod installed. This way I made sure it would clear and mirror work properly.

My gauge lights have their own rheostat (dimmer) and are connected to the factory dimmer so I can adjust everything as needed. I'm amazed at how quickly my vision has changed for the worse since hitting 50.....and that was a few years ago!

the problem is same as mine, the windshield has been replaced with a non OEM windshield or non Carlite glass.

If you need a windshield be sure to make sure it is carlite glass that is the OEM spec windshield.

Windshield is the original Carlite that the truck came with.

I called a glass shop and they told me Carlites come with the mount glued on.

I have a 3 gauge pod like this that fits just below the cubby. Brightness at night is no problem.
