6.0 to 5.9 cummins conversion

here is my problem the towing company I work for has a 2004 f-350 they wanted a 5.9 put in it. my sugestion was if you really want to do that find a bussiness that does conversions, instead they hired a local mecanic to do the job.they set a buget of 5000.00 that came and went and then some, everything that this guy touched is now f##k up, so now I get to fix all of the problems. here is what I am looking for does somebody have pictures of a cummins in a super duty, I would like to know what they did for the air cleaner and batteries. there are other issues that I am working on as well, wireing, air conditioning, the list is endless. the part that rubs me wrong about this is,this is to be my new truck, what I drive now is a 97 350 with almost 375,000 on a 7.3 the truck itself is shook. I have been waiting for over 4 months for the conversion to be done. truck is in my shop now I work on it after hours. I am now installing the wrecker body and fixing the endless list of problems that this guy screwed up.thanks to anybody that can help.

Would have been easier to just put an F350 body on a dodge frame or just buy a Dodge.

Are you getting paid to do this "after hours" work?

Wow! Good job, love the integration of the steering wheel buttons. I've only ever seen this done once and it turned out FUBAR. Looks good what does a conversion like that cost?

It all depends on what motor and trans you are using.

I would think the 12v with a 6 speed would be the cheapest because you would have to by a adapter, trans controller, or torque converter for an auto.

If you were doing a stock CR using the 5R110 I would think you could get away with doing it for around $10,600, thats including a used engine at $5000, adapter plate, controller, flex plate, motor mounts (get the good ones from Autoworld) powersteering pump relocator bracket, tach bracket $3075 shipped, oh and a $1500 ATS converter to match the stall of the Cummins. $1000 for misc. Don't for get that you can sell some parts off of the Ford.

They also have another article "Swap a Cummins into anything" with a lot of parts and links to conversion specialists.
