'11 Expy Limited entertainment screen out

First post but this site looks awesome. Can't wait to start reading some of the posts to find some common issues I have had. This is my third Expy.

Anyway, here's the deal. Two days ago I went out to start it and the battery was dead. I THINK I may have left the key in the "on" position, but not sure. Jump started it, everything good except...

From then on the entertainment screen has been out- no radio, clock, nav, phone system, back up camera, etc. Is there a reset since the battery was dead? I checked the owner's manual but could not locate a dedicated fuse for the entertainment system.

Help! I need that stinkin' back-up camera!

thanks, Peter

Welcome to the forum, Peter! If you're still running into difficulty tracking down the issue with your screen, you can always swing by the dealership. How many miles are on your Expedition?

There are almost 70,000 miles on the Expedition, so I would guess the warranty has expired.

Thanks for responding, haviland. If you decide to get your dealer involved, I'll be able to research some options to assist once they've taken a look.

I tried disconnecting the battery for 3 hours yesterday, no luck. Has anyone had any first hand knowledge with this situation?

The dealer said to disconnect the battery first, then look at the fuses under the hood. I carefully looked at each and every fuse listed in the manual and not one of them looked like it would relate to the non-functioning entertainment screen. Am I missing something?

thanks, Peter

Should I start checking each fuse that might have something to do with the entertainment center in the hopes that I can find one that has failed? I'm still thinking it might be connected to the dead battery and that there is a reset that has to be engaged.

Do the functions of the unit still work? (i.e. does the radio and such still work or is it completely dead?) If so can you control the unit using the steering wheel mounted controls? Have you tried to hook up a scan tool and see if it displays any trouble codes? That might help to pinpoint a trouble shooting starting point.

To me it almost sounds like there has to be a reset somewhere, perhaps as some kind of antitheft measure.

Thanks for your input Hank.

The functions do not work. I didn't actually try using the radio controls on the steering wheel but since I can't get the radio to play I am guessing those controls won't work either.

I do not have access to a scan tool. I wonder if they let you use one at the big name auto parts stores? That would be sweet.

The dealer today told me to go to synchmyride.com and see if there are downloads I need. But I'm still having trouble figuring out how to download the info onto a thumb drive as the service guy suggested.

If I can't get a scan tool the next step is to take it to the dealer. But I would hate to pay the minimum charge (which is fairly costly) for them to do a simple reset!
