That filter thing does happen just all of a sudden most tmes. With suction on the line WHATEVER is pulled up on the filter. When truck shuts down and there is no suction WHATEVER drops off enough for truck to run again for awhile. If you have original tank it's a good possibilty. If you don't want to pull the pickup you can go on the the tank side of the fuel pump and blow back with a good shot of air. sometimes it will push the screen right off

I'm hoping that's the problem. I'll actually leave the cap on and if it dies first thing I'll do is take it off and see if there's pressure. I kind of doubt that's it because they truck was running fine for 2 days then this problem just randomly started. I never even took the cap off in that time.

i would start at the carb inlet, remove the fuel line, run a hose to a clear jug and turn on your key since you have an electric pump. it should spit out gas at a considerable rate, if not, go to the inlet side of your fuel filter and try it again. if slow there, has to be the pump or screen in your tank.

Yeah, it could be a grain of sand or a float level that's off (stiicking down due to corrosion or a dried out tip).
I'm just stating at the other end.
Don't ya hate it when the truck is dying and its one of those super stupuid little things?
Know what's worse? You'll drive around for 2 hours tomorrow with your friend following you and it won't quit! Then the next day it'll stall backing out of the driveway!
