General introduction and strange inquiry.
Greetings,
The name is Rob and I'm in San Jose Ca. I had a 1966 F100 back in Highschool (Technically my Dad did) My grandpa had bought it new in 65. When he passed away in 84, we ended up with the truck. I loved that truck but a Camaro ran a red and broadsided me. The Truck was hit on the passenger side fender and the impact bent the frame in 3 places. My dad bought a 65 roller the following January and we used the frame and front clip from it to rebuild the 66. The truck was back on the road again almost a year after the crash. Dad ended up selling the truck in 86 and I just didn't have the cash to get it from him. I saw it one time about 12 years ago in downtown San Jose but didn't have time to stop and see if it may be for sale. I know the truck is now somewhere in Pine Grove California but exactly where is unknown. If anyone on here is in that area could you please contact me via PM or email. Would very much like to buy it back. One very distinguishable feature on this truck is the absence of the gas tank behind the seat. It will have twin tanks under the bed with a fill tube on each side. It may still have the 65 grill as well. Original color was aqua and white but the front fenders were primer last I saw. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys for the welcome. Pine grove is due east of Sac and a tad southm just into the Sierras. Its a one road town but the houses are spread out all over the mountains so it would be pointless to drive out there to see if I can find it. I have this posted in the main 61 - 66 forum as well and some suggested taking an ad out in the local paper. I think that may just be the way to go. hopefully the owner would see the ad and respond to me. Need to wait until after the holidays then I will run the ad. Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Well, I must be either down right determined to get another 66 or just a very disturbed individual. I just put 2 of my babies up for sale. My 1996 F350 Dually and my 1973 Pinto Wagon. I need to lower the amount of vehicles I have so selling two to get one is probably a good idea. If anyone is interested just email me. Link is in the top post. Might be willing to trade for just the right slick!

Well, it looks as if I have found the slick I want to get. Although not my Grandpas original truck but this one is the same year and color. The difference is that Grandpas truck was a 352 A/T where the one I am looking at is a 300ci 4speed and it's a Camper special. It also is a low mileage truck with only 65,XXX original miles on it. The catch is that it is Oregon and getting it here will be a bit of a feat.

My truck has had a similar life except mine never left the family. My was hit by a Camaro running a stop sign and was put back on the road. It was bought new by my grandfather and passed down along the way. I had to haul it back from Oregon and my brother has a Ford dually and we borrowed a car trailer from a friend to haul it home.
I know how much these old truck can attach them selves to a person or family.
Good luck on your next slick.
