To answer some questions first. The hood latches in the back when it slides along a ramp, on both sides, and stops, locking the hood in a horizontal "U" shaped keeper. I used the original hood spring mounting positions on the firewall to mount the ramp/keepers. This keeps things simple and can be changed back to original in desired. I also installed a modern front latching system, with release cable, out of a Dodge Van. When the hood is closed and latched it is more secure than the original system.
