How do I move the steering wheel

My friend was climbing in my truck and he's a pretty big dude and used the steering wheel to hoist himself in the truck and when he did the wheel made a loud pop and dropped about 1 inch. Everything still works but it's not comfortable for me to drive anymore. I looked and looked and is there any way to change the hight of it I cannot find a way. I have an 88 f250. Thanks

If you have the tilt wheel then just push the turn signal lever forward to release the tilt mechanism. If I remember right anyway...

Your are right. If there is slop more than likely it is the pins on the tilt mechnism. It is a common problem

Looking at your dash, I'm guessing this is a 1987-1991 truck?

If the wheel is loose (like you can move it side-to-side and up-and-down), you might want to check this thread, post number 7.

It's the turn signal. There's a reason it's a real beefy stick. It took me a couple years to figure out the thing actually tilted.

Yeah, this.
Look at the first pic. In front of the turn signal lever is a rounded notch.
