7' Garage door, will it fit?

I am looking to order a f250 or f350 Lariat fx4 with 18" wheels. Will it fit in my garage? I only have a 7 x 16' door. My garage is plenty deep not the issue just wondering if clearance will work?

I have 7x9 doors on my garage - and my '06 F350 FX4 Off Road fits by about an inch and a half (max!!) over the cab lights and side to side by about an inch on each side with the electric mirrors in the normal position (not pulled out). I have the 18" wheels and standard size tires. One caution, if the garage doors are the long spring help type instead of the torsion bar or roller spring, make sure the door doesn't "droop". Also, if it has a door opener, you might have to be careful there as well with the lever arm pull device. Then - you also have to make sure someone didn't put thick door stops on the frame

It should fit depending on the ground angles. If your garage is higher than the approach (Up hill going into the garage) you should have no problem. If the approach is higher than the garage (downhill into the garage) you may not clear, as this can make your truck seem higher.

Yes, unless the AoA (Angle of Approach) is too steep. Mine clears it, but barely. Too long to sit in there overnight though because of my work benches.

My '02 just fits and a buddy's '09 just fits. The only time mine is in my garage is when I'm working on it.

I have a 05 F350 with the stock 18" tires. I also have cab lights and a 2" front leveling kit. I clear by about 1". As was mentioned, you have to watch the door "droop". I usually push up on the door, out the window as I drive in and out. But I have a regular cab it is easy for me to hold the door up for the length of the cab.

Thanks, My approach angle is flat with about a 2% slope. I have a 10' ceiling in the garage the opener is a good 2 feet higher than the door. The lowest point is the opening which is exaxtly 7 feet off the slab. I just want to be dang sure I can get a fx4 lariat in the garage before ordering. Cause there is no way I am parking my new truck outside. Thanks again

My '10 F250 has the cab lights, 17 inch tires and the snowplow package (front end sits a bit higher) and I have about 1/2 inch clearance.

I have a single car garage with 7 foot "opening" The door droops down, so to get it in, i have to have someone hold it open, and even then it is about a 1/2" clearance all around...... but then i can't open the doors to get out because the garage is too narrow.

I have the same setup and clearance for sides and roof. The word "Barely" comes to mind. Watch for any snow/ice build up or if it drifts against the garage door. I got cautious one time and it saved some clearance lights from being removed one day.

The hight of the opener itself doesn't really matter as long as it is above the truck. There are 2 things to measure here:
1: Hight of the door opening (no brainer here)

2: The hight of the lift arm that actually pulls the door up.

If your door doesn't open far enough, you can install a longer radius arm that will lift the door higher than the door header. This also helps solve those sagging door issues.

As far as the tail goes, most standard openers come with an adjustable lift arm that has a tail about a foot long so you can adjust how tightly the door closes in the down position. I had to take a cut off wheel and trim mine flush with the back of the lift trolly to get the extra clearance. You can buy a shorter arm but they are about $30.....way cheaper and faster to trim the one you have.

Here is the Wife's side with the tail still on the lift arm

And here is my side with the tail cut off. Also, you can see that both of my doors have the higher lift rails installed.

Why not go and get one from a dealer for a longer 'test' drive?
