99' f350 v10 POPPING A P0320 CODE & WONT START
Re-posting, since no reply previously.
My 99 f350 v10 has had intermittent dying problems, for about 2yrs now up until last night I would just have to turn the key off & restart and all was good for days, weeks or even months. Now it just cranks but wont fire. Although I can't get it to pop a code right now, at previous times when it did it, I was able to get a p0320.
I looked up the code & it says "Ignition speed circuit problem" something like that. But I don't know where to begin.
HEP me please!

Here is the quotes from the ford repair manuals: Description:"The ignition engine speed sensor input signal to PCM is continuously monitored. The test fails when the signal indicates that two successive erratic profile ignition pickup (PIP) pulses have occurred."
Cause:
1)Loose wires/ connectors.
2)Arcing secondary ignition components (coil, wires and plugs)
3)On board transmitter (2-way radio)
This says it is an 'aide'? The DTC indicates that two successive erratic PIP pulses occurred.
I would start with the possible loose wires in the ignition system, Then move to the plugs wires and coil packs. I think the last one refers to an actual two way radio if you have one in your truck but I am not sure on that. Hope this helps somewhat.

Thanks; I think that is most likely my culprit, the more I think about the infrequency and erratic happenings. I noticed somewhere that there was SB for this exact problem but on '04 or newer 5.4 Expy's, and that the alternator wiring harness rubbing against the A/C lines was the problem. I checked that briefly but didn't find any smoking gun. But the loose wire thing does sound like that's the most likely path I need to try.
If anyone else has an other suggestions let me know.
