AMA Supercross Coming To Dodger Stadium?

Supercross event jumping to Dodger Stadium

Supercross to invade Dodger Stadium

I guess I'm just old fashioned, but the idea of bikes ripping around on that field doesn't really appeal to me much...but then again, if the revenue that's generated goes to paying for some pitching I probably won't feel so bad about it.

We went to something like that years ago at Angel Stadium. It was Baja style trucks and motocross. I guess the fields are about the same size. It was amazing how much dirt they brought in to build an off-road course, including big mountain jumps for the bikes. You gotta hand it to the landscapers that can clean up after that and have a perfect baseball field in short time.

Rest assured, they won't just be zipping around in circles on the diamond.

Oh I realize that, and I suppose it's silly to expect the ownership not to take advantage of an opportunity to make money.

I wonder how much money from this will go into McCourt's pocket...he's kinda hard-up these days...and how much say he had in bringing in the event

I'll bet the field will be perfect, or as good as ever, after the event.

Seems like the Rosebowl would have been a better venue. Same new audience, and more ft². Or the Coliseum.

I don't know why they stopped having them at the Coliseum, since that's where stadium motocross started back in the early 70's. I don't think they've had Supercross events there since the late 90's. X games and USC football are about the only thing that happens there anymore.

I've lived in LA almost my entire life, and have never set foot in the Coliseum.

Nice find Bill

Amazing how much care they take not to put any heavy equipment on the field without getting some dirt down first.
