It does seam odd. First thing I would try is replacing the teather connector (on the sled). I hate to say this, but take it too the stealer if that doesn't work!

Keep em. I don't need my wife getting any ideas. I think she has my list memorized any way.

The tether has been temperamental in the past with both so maybe just a bad connection on the sled side of it. Hope I don't need to go to the dealer.

You can change the tether post yourself, but any diagnosis on the comuter will require the dealer to hook it up to the BUDS system.

Is it a rev or XP chassis?

Jim's problem sounds like a bad tether post, which can happen to any machine when it has 8000miles on it.

As for me, I will take maintainance over weight

Enjoy your no starts then.I prefer a machine that I can depend on day in and day out without wrenches or my wallet.

I enjoy a machine that will get me where I want to go, and the Yamaha's usually stuck somewhere near the bottom

Or they have a turbo, inwhich case they make my machine look cheap and reliable
