four wheel ABS, rear drum ABS module obsolete?
Greetings all --
The brakes on my 99 4x4 F150, front disk, rear drum were a bit spongy. There's a problem with two of the dump valves in the ABS module (according to the gent working on the truck).
Local parts stores don't stock with part -- they say it's "dealer only". Dealer says the part is obsolete. Blows my mind that this part could be obsolete already. Ford Customer Service referred me to a couple of places that stock NOS parts. No luck there.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket supplier for these modules? I've looked into having it repaired, and the repair sites mostly speak of the "ABS pump run on" problem, which is not my issue.
I'd rather not bypass my ABS if I can help it. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Mark
