So i ordered a new oem set of fog lights because one of mine was broken so i got the lights in today and i go to take the old ones off and i unbolted the three screws holding them in then undid the plug and i had to break the lenses to get them to fit through the hole wear the front license plate is. I already took the grill off and the front license plate to get them out but how do i put the new ones in. They will not fit and i do not feel like taking the whole front bumper off? I have an 03 f250. help would be amazing.
Well, One could disasemble the fog light units, put each piece through the lower slit in the grill... reassemble in the grille. I think I'll pull the front bumper.
lost the detailed reply I just made, so now for a quick one
4 18 MM bolt beside tow hook
2 Side support bolt (1/2 inch)
6 10mm bolts to hold fog lights to bumper
Tape Dish cloth to bumper ends, from end to side marker light at least
Use friend to help support bumper
Undo 1/2 bolt on each side, remove 18mm lower bolt by each tow hook.
Have friend support one side of bumper, remove upper 18mm bolt... Use knee to support bumper. Slide Bumper down to end of tow hook, rotate a gap between bumper top . This is big enough to remove and fit in fog light units. If you want to completeley remove bumper, remove splash guard clips attached to bottom of bumper before removing forwrd bolts. Install new units with M6 1.0 X20mm hex flanged cap screw. This will fit factory clip on back of 2002 F250 bumper (and probably 2003). Reverse above process to reinstall, use a disposable DVD case to set gap between bumper and head light. Just did this today, having right tools and fasteners as well as friend mandatory. Air Impact wrench makes final adjustments of gaps a lot easier, but could be done with socket wrench and some elbow grease.
