What to know if any one might know where i could find info on horn kits and parts Thanx in advance !

 

Firstly, I believe AutoZone/Advance Auto carry's aftermarker horns including train horns for pretty cheap, but...

Any quick search pulls up many listings for companies that do train horns, these three are the ones that I myself would buy from, anything from mild to wild the price seems to reflect that too...hmm, hope this helps (as it happens I had this same thought not long ago but decided to go with a dixie horn instead)
Btw, IIRC, 190 db (190 decibles) would be a direct comparison to the same sound levels as a jet fighter taking off from an aircraft carrier.

I too would love to have a really loud train horn.

But i went with the cheap route and took the dual horns off an old 1990 buick park avenue. It has a really loud horn.

I hooked those two horns + my orginal horn up and got all three that go off at once. Sounds great.

 

Well in this case you get what you pay for, 160 db (which is what the cheapest kit costs from the three sites above) is -INSANELY- loud, many inspection companies would require employees to wear ear protection at this rate...and thats the lowest db that the smallest kits puts out... 190 db is enough to deafen you for a short period of time, a time frame that would make you somewhat ill and confused. :P

 

A friend of mine has one in his Roush pickup. It'll blow your socks off it so loud.

I havent bought a horn cause I work on tractor trailers and got truck horns but I did get a compressor, regulator, and electric solenoid (so I could hook it into my car alarm) and its all great and has warranty.

DO NOT buy the 'air horns' from auto zone or harbor freight. Theyre junk. I thought for $50-70.00 it would be ok and it all says "super loud truck sound" or whatever and its all junk. If you like dixie truck horns, go for it. If you want real horns, follow these links.

Thanks for all the the info!!! I was really asking if one of the sponser's of FTE offered anything first, But I went with hornblaster.com. For $600.00 + got a 4 horn, 5 gal. tank and a nice compressor and it is around 150--160 dcb's. No more road rage for me, I will just politely honk my horn if you offend me with your silly driving. (not really just kidding I think you could cause a wreck if you honk this horn on a public road) I am going to put it on a friends 2006 fx4 f150 his kids all play sports and they sit on the side lines and blow horns. (only in America) THANKS AGAIN FOR THE RESPONSE !!

You can honk your horns, just some advice, keep the OEM horn hooked up (so its all legal) and DO NOT be directly behind someone you are going to honk at. People tend to hit their brakes. What I do is back off 2 lengths, hang on the horn, then as they brake or move over you haul *** passed them. As for the loudness thing.. If you have the OEM normal horn its ok. If you have the train (air) as your primary you will get into trouble. Or, you can just cruise slow and scare pedestrians in crowded places.
