Looking for help with frame rot repair
#32
there is a junk yard near hagerstown, that has 200 acres of old stuff, from the 30's up. you may find something there. a full size frame can be cut and sectioned, if you can't find something else. I think your frame is from 68-79, should be a few good ones still out here somewhere.
Been looking for a good yard, what is the name of thsi place?

Really appreciate everyone's advice. Unfortunately, I'm gonna need to hold off on getting a donor truck and starting the teardown for a while. As much as I want to get started now, the local home owners association doesn't allow this kinda work in the driveway, so I need to figure out how to clean out our garage and how to keep the neighbors from complaining. Will keep posting here as I figure out a plan.
I do not know how many I did this kind of work on in my younger days. The frame looks real bad. I would seriously take a long hard look at the whole frame and not just patch the one area. If the goal is a frame off resto.... start looking for parts now and put the rig in storage might be safer that way.
I broke a 72 frame due to rot while on the road... it wasn't pretty and there wasn't enoght left to haul home to fix.
